Francis Grignet is a founding partner at Galileo Partners in Montreal. A member of the Barreau du Québec since 2015, he has dedicated his entire practice exclusively to business immigration law. With over 10 years of experience, he is recognized for his deep expertise in Labour Market Impact Assessments (LMIAs), including the low-wage stream, as well as for his ability to design and deploy structured international recruitment strategies tailored to the operational realities of the employers he supports. His approach draws on the full range of available immigration pathways, including the International Mobility Program (IMP) and the Temporary Foreign Worker Program (TFWP), to maximize the efficiency and compliance of his clients’ foreign workforce programs.
Holding a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B., 2013) and a Juris Doctor (J.D., 2014) from Université de Sherbrooke, Francis Grignet also completed an international training program in negotiation, conflict resolution and introduction to financial accounting at the Haas School of Business at the University of California, Berkeley (2010), as well as a certificate in legal writing from Université de Sherbrooke. This multidisciplinary background, combining law, business and communication, underpins his distinctive approach to business immigration, where the legal and operational challenges of employers are always addressed in an integrated manner.
In 2016, Francis co-founded Galileo Partners with three partners, taking on a leadership role in the development of the firm’s legal services. He supports employers in the planning and deployment of large-scale international recruitment projects, taking into account the specific characteristics of each organization, including whether the workplace is unionized. His expertise in LMIAs, and in particular the low-wage stream, makes him a go-to resource for employers in labour-intensive sectors (food processing, manufacturing, hospitality, agriculture and others) that must navigate an increasingly complex and constantly evolving regulatory framework.
Creative, rigorous and equipped with cross-functional skills developed through an entrepreneurial career path, Francis brings a structured and reassuring approach to every file. He thrives in complex and constantly evolving environments, where business challenges call for tailored legal solutions.
