Biography

Nicolas Simard-Lafontaine is one Galileo’s founding partners. Since his admission to the Quebec Bar, he practices exclusively in business immigration representing businesses and entrepreneurs.

Nicolas is directly involved with several of Galileo’s business clients on sensitive matters and complex cases. He mainly represents business clients in the fields of civil engineering, construction, manufacturing, and technology. Nicolas uses a long-term strategic approach in advising clients. He allows Galileo’s clients to easily navigate long-term business projects that include immigration-related components such as the construction of a new plant, the acquisition of a Canadian business by a foreign buyer, the establishment of business activities in Canada, the construction of essential infrastructures or the implementation of internal processes required to manage a growing volume of immigration-related issues.

Nicolas is also a member of Galileo’s management team; he manages various commercial and continuous improvement projects.

Nicolas is also involved in the legal community. He currently acts as co-president, membership of the Canadian Immigration Lawyers Association (CILA) and sits on the executive committee of the Quebec division of the immigration and citizenship section of the Canadian Bar Association. As part of these committees, he frequently comments on government policies by contributing to the drafting of letters to relevant ministries, publishing articles, and participating in various meetings with ministries and government agencies involved in the immigration system.

Nicolas holds a Bachelor of Business Administration (B.A.A.) from HEC Montréal and a Bachelor of Civil Law (L.L.B.) from the Université de Sherbrooke. He is listed on international rankings including Who’s Who Legal (WWL), Chambers & Partners and LExpert as one of the most recommended Canadian lawyers in business immigration.
